Hyderabad, June, 12 ( The News )

Jnanpith awardee and a veteran in Telugu literature Dr C Narayana Reddy, popularly known as Cinare, passed away after a brief illness in Hyderabad on Monday morning. He was 86.

He is survived by four daughters. As he complained of chest pain he was immediately admitted to a private hospital where he breathed his last. He had mastered Telugu literature though he was an Uru student initially.

He was a Telugu professor in Osmania University and then vice chancellor of Telugu University. Having possessed great rhyming skills, he written many books, composed poems and lyrics for film industry. He worked closely with NTR.

He was born on July 29, 1931 in Hanumajipet village of Rajanna in Sircilla district.
