Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Goshamahal Assembly Constituency, T Raja Singh Lodh has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the massive scandal involving wakf properties in Telangana.

He submitted separate representations to the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and Speaker S Madhusudana Chary in this regard.

He has also sent a complaint to the Chief Justice of India with a request to co

sider his complaint as a Public Interest Litigation and order a CBI probe.

“I will send similar complaints to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Justice of High Court. I want justice for the poor Muslims who are being duped by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leaders day in and day out,” Raja Singh said.

In his representation, Raja Singh stated that successive Congress rulers alienated Wakf properties while MIM leaders, the self-styled champions of Muslim community, more particularly the Owaisi family – extended their conspicuous cooperation for their personal benefits. It appears the Owaisi family has been in the knowhow of Wakf Properties ever since Abdul Wahed Owaisi, the grandfather of Asaduddin Owaisi, managed to become the chief of MIM in late 1960s.

The Congress and MIM combine, backed by a section of Islamic scholars, either alienated thousands of acres of

f Wakf properties or helped land sharks grab the Wakf properties. To cover up this, both the parties vied with each other to divert the attention of the Muslim community by inciting communal hatred and disturbing social harmony, Raja Singh alleged in his representation.

He further said that most of the employees currently working in Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board, have been given the jobs by violating the rules and regulations. Several of them, in collusion with land sharks and politicians, have amassed huge wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.

Since the scandal runs into thousands of crores and several influential persons including politicians and officials are involved, only an impartial probe by Central Bureau of Investigation would be able to bring the culprits to book, Raja Singh said adding that he would knock the doors of judiciary if the governments did not order CBI probe.
