Yen 50 b ODA loan for India

Japan has committed JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) ODA (Official Development Assistance) loan of Yen 50 billion (Rs 2620 crore approximately at exchange rate of Rs 1=Yen 1.91) for the PPP Infrastructure Financing Project of India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL).

Notes were exchanged on Friday between Rajesh Khullar, joint secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Takeshi Y

gi, Ambassador of Japan. Through this Exchange of notes India and Japan have had a long and fruitful history of bilateral development cooperation since 1958.

In the last few years the economic partnership between India and Japan has steadily progressed. This loan further consolidated the strategic and global partnership between India and Japan.

ODA, JICA provides bilateral aid in technical cooperation. The JICA had been advancing its activities around the pillars of a field-oriented approach, human security, and enhanced effectiveness, efficiency and speed.
