Wi-Fi in 100 rail stations this year


New Delhi, Feb 25 (The News)

Railroad Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday proposed authorizing of Wi-Fi administrations at 100 rail stations this year and at an aggregate 400 in the following two years.”The process has started to present Wi-Fi administrations at stations particularly for youth and business voyagers. I propose to commission Wi-Fi administrations at 100 stations this year and at 400 stations in the following two years,” Prabhu said while displaying the R

ilway Budget 2016-17 in parliament.

Indian Railways has joined forces with Google in this present endeavour.Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, amid his visit to India in December a year ago, said: “In our endeavor to give web access to individuals, we have chosen to give Wi-Fi at 400 railroad stations in relationship with RailTel. The initial 100 stations will come online by 2016-end.”

Prabhu additionally said that this year, a Track Management System (TMS) application was launched.”With this, exercises of track investigation, observing and upkeep have subsequently been changed over to an IT stage, and programmed alarms as SMS and messages are being created,” the priest said.
